MIX MASALA

Mix Masala is a traditional Maharashtrian spice powder mixture of fragrant spices that are combined to give it a little sweet flavor, hence the name.

TYPES OF RED CHILI WE OFFER

Chili Peppers

KASHMIRI RED CHILI

As their name suggests, Kashmiri Red Chilli originates from the state of Kashmir. Due to its deep red color and low Scoville level, it’s generally used more for its color than its spiciness.

Red Chilli Powder

GUNTUR RED CHILI

Again, going by the name, the chilli comes from the Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh. But unlike Kashmiri Red Chilli, this is one of the hottest chillies in the country and also has a dark red or maroon colour.

Tips for Purchase & Saving

  • This masala, "Goad," which means sweet in Marathi, is used in many traditional Maharashtrian dishes like Bharleli Vangi, Amti, and several other curries with a distinctively Maharashtrian flavour. Dagad Phool/Pathar Phool, also known as Black Stone Flower, is the source of this masala's peculiar flavour.

  • Similar to other spice blends, Goda masala's spice proportions might vary from home to home and by location, based on regional or personal preferences, but the core ingredients are almost always the same. When making masala, the spices are normally measured precisely in grammes or kilogrammes; however, an approximate conversion to cups or spoons is provided.
